Yes, the giv.care app runs on Apple or Android smartphones running up-to-date operating systems. A data plan is also required so you can submit your notes to get paid.

You can sign up and we’ll add you to our network of caregivers. However, most caregivers will join to work with a specific person or family. Without that connection, it may take more time to begin receiving shift invites.

The background check searches for criminal charges or convictions within the past 10 years. If you have a felony or misdemeanor on your record, your application will need to be reviewed by the state and may result in a delay or rejection. If your application goes before the state, you can submit additional information to support your case.
Some misdemeanors do not need to be reviewed by the State but should still be disclosed in your application such as: a violation of local ordinances related to animal licenses, littering, dogs at large, noise, yard sales, land uses, storm water, utilities, business licenses, zoning, building, construction and park or access hours; failure to appear, unauthorized hunting; a failure to have the appropriate fishing license; a failure to comply with the boating safety requirements; failure to have a business license; juvenile misdemeanors except those listed in Subsection 62A-2-120(5)(a) unless there is a pattern of at least three or more similar offenses within the five years prior to the submission of the application. -
We strive to pay the best hourly rate in the state of Utah. As an employee of giv.care, you’re paid bi-weekly based on the shifts you worked.

At this time, we’re unable to offer benefits to part-time and flex-time employees.

It depends on your client(s). Potential hours per week are determined by the state’s Medicaid benefit allocations for each client. The more clients you have, the more potential for hours.

All caregivers will need to get trained and certified in First Aid and CPR and, if needed, Behavioral Intervention Training. Additional person-specific training will be provided for each client. You will also receive at least 14 hours of additional training each year.

You must be at least 16-years-old to qualify to be a Medicaid reimbursed caregiver. Some exceptions apply for direct family members.

No, we are a caregiver provider. We often say if SAS and an agency had a baby, we’d be it. We’ve taken the best parts of these caregiving models to form giv.care. We hire your favorite caregivers (friends, family, etc…), handle all the billing, and you get to plan and schedule shifts directly with your caregivers through our mobile app.

No, the amount you work is something you can negotiate with your client(s).

Yes. All giv.care caregivers receive the same level of training to ensure they’re fully prepared to provide the best possible care. This includes certification in First Aid, CPR, and, if required, Behavioral Intervention Training—even if you’re caring for a family member.

You’ll work for giv.care. If someone has asked you to be a caregiver, they can request that you be their primary support, but you always have the right to accept or reject any job.

No, but you do need to write notes in the app at the end of each shift in order to get paid.

Yes, you just need to work with your Coordinator/Caseworker to switch your benefits to Agency-Based Services.

Currently we are signing up clients and families with their own caregivers. We find the best, most consistent caregiving happens when there’s a personal connection. As our network grows, you’ll be able to tap into our other available caregivers, but your primary caregiver(s) should be yours.

Start with the people closest to you. Reach out and see if they’d be interested in helping. Then go to social media and let your friends know you are looking for someone to help. Most caregivers actually don’t come from people’s inner circle. Instead, they come from the friends and family of their friends and family.

The giv.care app has been created to work with the giv.care network. We can only store data for clients who are signed up with giv.care.

We don’t currently have a way to process payments for non-Medicaid caregiving—but we’re working on it. Stay tuned.
